Eh, it’s just Millar shooting his mouth off. I was worried for a second that he was actually writing the damn thing, but fortunately that’s not the case. Because, seriously, fuck that guy.
I hope it’s good. I’m not expecting to be nearly as good as The Avengers; Dark Knight trilogy aside, most of DC’s movie output in the last ten years has been utter crap. I’m looking at you, Green Lantern.
So, following the immense popularity of my 5 Essential Character Redesigns post, I decided to take a more thorough stab at revamping DC Comic’s Justice League. I’ve already mentioned before that I think their current “New 52” reboot, aimed at gaining new readers, is terribly ineffective,…
Holy crap awesome. I’m not 100% on all the designs; Wonder Woman and Superman aren’t my favorites. I would point out that the only reason that Greek statuary is all grey and lifeless-looking today is that time and age wore away the original sometimes-realistic, sometimes-gaudy paint that was originally there. The Amazons would want her to look as human as possible if they were sending her out as their envoy. I also like the Magic Lasso, but then I’m generally okay with bondage, so maybe that’s just me. As for Superman, the two things that appeal to me about him wearing a bodysuit are a) hell, if I had a physique like that, I’d show it off and b) it says “I have nothing to hide. No pockets, no utility belt. I don’t carry anything because I don’t need to carry anything. I can save the world with this body and this mind and nothing else,” which to me is part of the essence of Supes.
But everyone else? Hells to the yeah. Steampunk Cyborg FTMFW.
